Comments:) Larry Dwight Baumann entered eternal rest on Monday, April 14, 2008 at the age of 58. He was born April 1, 1950 in Floresville. Larry graduated from Floresville High School in 1968 and the University of Texas in 1975. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in Austin for many years and retired in 2004. Upon his retirement, he returned to his hometown of Floresville. Larry was an avid Longhorn fan and a lifetime member of the Texas Exes. His true passions in life were sailing, hunting, and celebrating his German heritage. He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Floresville. He is survived by his son, Eric Leslie Baumann of Austin; parents, Leslie and Nelda Baumann of Floresville; sister, Reba Baumann of Floresville; brother, Steve Baumann and wife Olga of Floresville; nephews, Michael and Cristian; and niece, Emelie. Mr. Baumann was preceded in death by his sister, Sharron Rethaber; and his brother-in-law, Robert J. Rethaber. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday and a prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Vinyard Funeral Home, Floresville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M.
